Website Privacy Policy

This policy covers militarygpskit.com, this website and nothing else. It explains what is collected when you browse these pages, who processes it, and how to stop it.

Looking for the app privacy policy? Each mobile edition has its own notice: iOS app privacy policy and Android app privacy policy. Installing or using the app is governed by the document for your platform, not by this one.

01

Who we are

This website is published by Alfarays, maker of Military GPS Survival Kit, operating from Armenia. The same publisher lists the app under a different brand on each store: Alfarays on the Apple App Store and MI Division on Google Play. For the purposes of the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation, Alfarays is the data controller for personal data processed through this site, and can be reached through our contact page.

02

What this site does not do

The site is a set of static pages. It has no accounts and no back end that stores anything about you. Specifically:

  • There is no sign-up, log-in, account or profile.
  • There are no contact forms, comment fields, newsletter fields or file uploads. Nothing on the site asks you to type personal information.
  • No payments are taken here. The app is free and is downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.
  • The coordinate converter runs entirely in your browser. Coordinates you type are not sent to us, are not stored on any server we operate, and are discarded when you close the page.
  • The site does not ask for, receive or store your device location.
  • We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
  • Web fonts are served from this site's own domain, not from Google Fonts, so loading a page makes no request to a font server.

03

What is collected

Three things process data when you visit, all of them for audience measurement, security and delivering the pages:

Vercel Web Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages are useful. It sets no cookies, writes nothing to your device and assigns you no identifier that persists after you leave. It records: the page viewed, the referring site or search engine, approximate location (country, derived from your IP address), device type, browser and operating system. Your IP address is used in transit to derive that country and a short-lived hash, and is not stored by us in a form that identifies you.

Alongside those page views we count three specific actions, so we can tell whether the site is doing its job: a click through to the App Store or Google Play, which platform the download page handed you off to, and whether the coordinate converter produced a result. These record that an action happened and on which page. They do not record who did it, and they never include the coordinates you typed.

Because no identifier is stored on your device, we cannot recognise you across visits, follow you to another website, or build a profile of you. Vercel acts as our processor; see the Vercel Web Analytics privacy documentation. We describe that processing here in good faith based on published documentation, but we do not control it and cannot warrant it.

Ahrefs Web Analytics

We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics, which measures the same kind of thing from a second vantage point and lets us see how the site performs in search. It likewise sets no cookies and writes nothing to your device. It records: the page viewed, the referring site or search engine, your browser's language preference, and the operating system, device type and browser reported in your user-agent string. Approximate location (country and city) is derived from your IP address in transit.

Ahrefs does not store raw IP addresses. It combines your IP address and user-agent with a salt that changes every day to produce a hash, then discards the address; the salt rotating daily means the resulting count cannot connect you to yesterday, to another device, or to any other website. Ahrefs Pte. Ltd. acts as our processor; see its published description of what the tool collects. As above, we describe that processing in good faith based on published documentation, but we do not control it and cannot warrant it.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like any web server, its infrastructure processes your IP address, request time, requested URL and browser user-agent in order to deliver the page and to protect the service against abuse and denial-of-service attacks. These operational logs are short-lived and are not used to build a profile of you.

04

Cookies

This site sets no cookies at all. Not for analytics, not for advertising, retargeting or social media, and not for preferences. Nothing is written to your device when you browse it: no cookies, no local storage, no tracking pixels.

That is why you have never been asked to accept anything here. A cookie banner exists to obtain permission to store things on your device, and we store nothing, so there is no permission to ask for and nothing for you to opt out of. The analytics described above work without identifying you, which is precisely why they need no cookie.

The one exception is not a cookie and never leaves your device: the download page records a single flag in your browser's session storage so that returning from the App Store or Google Play does not immediately send you back again. It is not an identifier, it is never transmitted anywhere, and your browser discards it when you close the tab.

06

International transfers

Vercel Inc. is a United States company and may process the above data outside your country, including in the US. It publishes its own transfer safeguards: at the effective date above, certification under the EU-U.S., UK and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework together with Standard Contractual Clauses, and those are the safeguards relied on here. Certification status is maintained by Vercel, not by us; check its current listing if this matters to you.

Ahrefs Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore company and processes analytics data outside the EU and UK. Singapore is not covered by a European adequacy decision, so that transfer relies on the Standard Contractual Clauses in the data processing terms Ahrefs publishes for its customers. In practice what crosses the border is a page URL, a referrer, a user-agent, a language preference and a country, with the IP address discarded at the point of collection rather than transferred.

07

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and holds no accounts, passwords or payment details, so there is no store of personal data here to breach. That said, no method of transmitting or storing data over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to or from this site. Any transmission is at your own risk.

Where processing happens on infrastructure operated by Vercel or Ahrefs, their security measures apply and we rely on their published commitments.

08

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal data about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because this site holds no accounts and no records that identify you by name, we usually cannot link any of the data described above to a specific person, which also means a request may not be answerable without further information that would itself be more intrusive to collect.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not offer financial incentives for personal information.

To exercise a right, contact us through our contact page. If you are in the EU or UK you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

10

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy at any time to reflect changes in the tools or services described above, or in applicable law. When we do, this page and the effective date at the top change with it; we do not notify visitors individually, so please check back if this matters to you. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy. This policy was last updated on .

12

Accuracy and reliance

Everything on this site is provided for general reference on an “as is” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the site will be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

The coordinate converter is a convenience tool. Conversions are computed in your browser on the WGS-84 datum and are rounded for display; results may differ from figures produced on another datum or at another precision. Verify any position against an authoritative source before acting on it.

Nothing here is a substitute for proper training, current official charts, a functioning primary navigation method, or your own judgement. Do not rely on this site, the converter, or any reference material reproduced here as a sole means of navigation or as guidance in a safety-critical or emergency situation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss, injury or damage arising from reliance on this site.

The field manuals listed on this site are United States Army publications approved for public release and reproduced as reference material. We are not their author, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the US Army or any government body.
